The event of the year is coming soon to the Louvre!

This exhibition has received plenty of press coverage and put diplomacy between France and Italy to the test against a backdrop of political crisis. Nonetheless, the most eagerly awaited show of the year will soon open, simply entitled Leonardo da Vinci!  Leonardo lived in Italy and died in France in 1519. To celebrate the 500th anniversary of his death, the Louvre is organizing a brand new retrospective dedicated to the grand master and absolute genius of all time. 120 pieces will be on display, including paintings, drawings, manuscripts, sculptures and objets d’art. Because it is expected to be tremendously popular, tickets will only be available online, with a reserved time slot (the €17 museum admission fee covers all permanent and temporary exhibitions). The Mona Lisa will continue to be displayed in its usual location. However, the virtual reality experience Mona Lisa: Beyond the Glass gives you a chance to approach and interact with the painting in a singular way. This seminal event will be opening its doors on 24 October 2019 and will run for four months.
